Alec Holdaway’s passion for cricket began in 2007, and since then he’s become a well-known figure in the South Wales cricket community.
A long-standing player and Head Coach at Rogerstone Welfare Cricket Club (RWCC), Alec also coaches on the Cricket Wales Pathway, helping talented young players reach their potential.
His coaching philosophy focuses on player development, constructive feedback, and long-term success — creating a positive environment where players can grow their skills, confidence, and score more runs.
Coaching Experience
Since 2017, Alec has been the Head Coach at Rogerstone Welfare Cricket Club, where he’s played a key role in developing both youth and senior players. He also works as a Coach for Cricket Wales and has been brought in by clubs to work with their 1st XI batters, providing specialist one-to-one and group batting sessions.
Alec is a UKCC Level 2 qualified coach and is currently working towards becoming an ECB Advanced Coach, reflecting his continued drive to learn and grow within the game.
